"Fear is information. Joy is strategy. Gratitude is grounding. Micro-steps are progress. And when women rise together, everything magnifies."
Two years ago, I walked into the largest room I’d ever been - over 400 women from 40 countries at the Forbes 30/50 Women’s Summit in Abu Dhabi. Leaders, visionaries, and trailblazers surrounded me, and I felt that familiar knot in my throat and churn in my stomach. Who am I to be here? How do I make this matter?
Maybe you’ve felt that too? Stepping into a room full of people who seem to have it all figured out, wondering if you belong? But then I paused and asked myself: I’m here. What is this room here to show me about myself? That small shift, showing up, taking a breath, and being present became the start of something far bigger than I could have imagined.
By the end of the 3-day event, the connections I had made changed everything. One of those connections was with Caitlyn. She had seen my stories from the event and messaged me with words I’ll never forget: “Queen! You are living the life that will be mine too.” When we met in Darwin, we connected instantly. Caitlyn and I joined forces because we shared the same vision and mission: we wanted more women to experience this same sense of possibility, connection and empowerment - right here in their own hometown. That single message manifested simply by showing up and being real at an event, and it became the spark for Magnify Her; a movement built to elevate and connect ambitious women.
Building your dreams isn’t one leap - it’s thousands of micro-movements that quietly add up.
Maybe you’ve asked yourself: What is my dream? Do I have time? Am I running out of time? Where do I start? Am I cut out for this?
Being around women who are already living their dreams is one of the fastest ways to believe it’s possible. Your subconscious absorbs it as reality. The experiences, adventures and small actions along the way quietly build success - sometimes before you even realise it!
Recognising where you’ve already been successful sparks courage, reignites drive and reminds you of your capacity to pursue what’s next. Like a holiday moment, the things that once felt overwhelming suddenly don’t.
Small choices compound; courage, joy, gratitude, discipline and belief. Every yes, every no, every moment you pause to reflect or reach out... These micro-steps quietly shape the next version of you.
Why spaces like this matter
Caitlyn and I founded Magnify Her to create a space where ambitious, professional, and business women feel seen, elevated, supported, and connected.
Every woman brings:
Different perspectives
Unique wisdom
Diverse mindsets
Distinct dreams
Varied seasons of life
A personal why
The beauty is in the connection and diversity, and the sparks that fly when different worlds collide. This is a space where you belong, where you are celebrated and where your next step is fuelled by community, courage, and possibility.
Five Micro-Movements to Deepen Connection and Momentum
Say yes to what scares you - step into rooms and opportunities that challenge you. What’s the smallest step you could take this week?
Start one intentional conversation weekly - ask about someone’s story, not their title. You’re connecting with a human, not an accolade. Who could you reach out to this week?
Take one reflective pause each day - notice what’s going well, what you’ve learned and where courage showed up, even in small ways. What can you celebrate today?
Commit to one daily micro-courage habit - make the call. Send the note. Show up. What have you been putting on the back burner?
Offer your support first - reach out, encourage or celebrate someone else before expecting recognition. Who can you lift up this week?
Micro-Courage Reminder When you walk into a new room or reach out to someone for the first time, pause and ask yourself: “What’s the worst that can happen?” Often, when you name it, you realise it’s either small or insignificant... Maybe a little awkwardness and a brief moment of uncertainty. Your mind tends to inflate the risk, but in reality, most interactions are far safer than they feel.
And remember: everyone is human. Everyone wants connection. The nerves you feel? Normal. The courage you need? Already within you. Take the step, and the rest will follow.
Your life has been shaped by thousands of micro-acts of courage. Your next chapter only needs one more. And when women rise together? Everything magnifies.
